Château des Laurets Baron cultivates a selection of plots, harvested and sorted by hand, to produce a blend with all the care that goes into the finest wines. After acquiring Château des Laurets in 2003, Baron Benjamin de Rothschild wanted to highlight the unique character of this estate by producing a limited vintage from a selection of the best Merlot plots.
A niche wine, produced only in the best years, Château des Laurets Baron bears the mark of the great Saint‑Emilion wines, predominantly Merlot.
Intense deep purple colour. The nose features overtones of blackberry, cherry pits and vanilla. It has a myriad of aromas and displays a rare elegance. This 100% Merlot, made to age for a very long time, has an outstanding aromatic complexity. It has delicious blackberry and cherry flavours as well as great body, and a fine structure enhanced by oak ageing for long cellaring. The black fruit flavours are remarkably fresh.
